Who I Am
I’m Brianna Clark (she/her) and I am a licensed clinical social worker, wife, mom, and basset hound lover. As New York state’s first (and, for the time being, only) licensed mental health care provider and certified intuitive eating counselor north of Poughkeepsie, as well as the Capital Region’s only Health at Every Size® affirming social worker, I’m passionate about bringing intuitive eating and Health at Every Size® principles to therapeutic contexts. I work one on one with clients to recover from eating disorders, fight body shame, and reclaim their lives from diet culture so they can focus on more important things.
Other practice specialties include supporting adults struggling with life transitions, relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, and identity. I use psychodynamic and feminist frameworks to promote a collaborative exploration of past and present experiences to guide the development of insight surrounding the core beliefs that shape my clients’ lives in an effort to foster growth and transformation. My ultimate goal is to support my clients as they achieve more peaceful, fulfilling lives through a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies & Psychology from Vassar College and I graduated summa cum laude from the University at Albany’s MSW program.
When I’m not geeking out on therapy stuff, you can find me reading fiction, binge-watching reality television, and taking way too many pictures of my dog.
How It Works
I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments to anyone located in the state of New York. I am in-network for a handful of local insurance plans and also offer a sliding scale fee for those whose insurance I am unable to take. Learn more about how I practice on my FAQs page.
